Our Mission
Heirloom Southern Cakes is
dedicated to preserving the culinary heritage and unique baking traditions of
the American South -- one cake at a time! Our cakes celebrate family,
tradition, Southern foodways, and the warmth of community. They are sweet reminders of a
simpler time.
Your baker, Mrs. Joseph owes a
great debt of gratitude to the church mothers, grandmothers and community
mothers who opened their hearts (and kitchens!) sharing the art of
Southern cooking. From the Creole Sisters of the Holy Family (Soeurs Sante Famille) in New
Orleans to scores of East Texas church mothers and my own elders
in central Alabama
-- perfecting Southern cooking is a delicious privilege I’ve enjoyed since childhood.
